All Animal products contain modern biotechnology based on microbiology. Behind our solutions is the daily research and development work of the Probiotic Group Luxemboug in Cooperation with the Luxembourg Institute of Sciences and Technology (LIST) and the Luxembourg Center for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB). The common goal is to research the specific effects of microorganisms in order to be able to integrate them into cleaning and care products as a substitute for chemical agents. Basically, it should be noted that all newly created products must be environmentally friendly, have a guaranteed effectiveness for the end user and at the same time enable a healthier lifestyle. They are also said to help fight pathogenic and resistant bacteria, which are becoming an increasing public health problem (WHO).
The development of microbiological products
1. Examine areas of application
From the surfaces for which we want to develop suitable products, we first take the bacteria that are already present. For example from the fur of dogs to be able to develop an effective shampoo. Or from animal toys and animal cages in order to be able to tailor an optimal cleaner to the bacteria present there.
2. Conduct stress tests
Our products have to work, even after months of storage, for example. That is why we are investigating how our microorganisms behave in very unfavorable living conditions (stress test). We explore what solutions they find to survive. These research results ensure the quality and stability of our products.
3. Check effectiveness
Our microorganisms must be able to live in the intended areas of application. They need to grow and multiply. At different room temperatures and also with changing pH values, i.e. in acidic or basic environments. This is why cleaners, for example, contain different microorganisms than odor removers or shampoos.
4. Guarantee security
Our products must be safe. That is why the microbes contained in our products undergo DNA extraction and the genome is read. The research work ensures that our microorganisms do not contain any pathogenic genes, are not resistant to antibiotics and cannot transfer any resistance genes to other bacteria.
